Bicycle Accidents
Bicycles and vehicles often cross paths. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released in 2006, bicyclist deaths in motor vehicle crashes numbered 720 nationwide (725 in 2004)
Bicyclist injuries in motor vehicle crashes numbered 45,000 (41,000 in 2004).
In 2007 in Wisconsin, there were 1,163 bicycle accidents involving motor vehicles, 10 of which were fatal.
Bicycle accidents have much in common with motorcycle accidents. It is often the fault of the other driver due to inattentiveness or difficulty in seeing the bicycle on the road. While bicycles have the same right to be on the road as cars, trucks and motorcycles, the reality is the road is a dangerous place for a bicyclist and accidents will happen.
