FAQs
How do I make sure my personal injury case is strong?
Here’s some tips that will help ensure your personal injury case is strong:
- Always file a police report.
- Go to a doctor as soon as possible and be very thorough in reporting your complaints and injuries from head to toe at the first appointment.
- Preserve the evidenced of your injuries. Take photos of wounds, lacerations, bruises, and all other physical evidence of your injury. Remember to also take photos of the damage to your car, broken glass, skid marks, and if possible, the other party’s car or accident site. If you experience a workplace injury, try to take pictures of the injury site, highlighting what was unsafe and caused your accident.
- Keep a journal and write in it your daily experiences, restriction and pain. Over time, many important details will be forgotten; the journal will help preserve the evidence.
- Follow the advice of your doctor and continue your medical treatment until you are released. If you stop going to the doctor, for whatever reason, the jury will most likely assume it is because you are no longer injured. By following your doctor’s advice, not only are you taking care of your health, but you are also aiding your attorney in proving the ongoing nature of your pain and suffering.
